Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to Maharashtra and Goa, inaugurated the Phase-I of Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg in Nagpur on December 11. The Mahamarg covers a distance of 520 km connecting Nagpur city and Shirdi.
He also inaugurated AIIMS Nagpur with state-of-the-art facilities. The hospital will provide modern healthcare facilities to the Vidarbha region. The people living in tribal areas of Gadchiroli, Gondia, and Melghat will also benefit from it.
During his visit to Nagpur, the Prime Minister was welcomed by a number of folk artists who were exhibiting the traditional art form of the state. He met with the artists and played a traditional drum with them.

PM Modi also flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train between Nagpur and Bilaspur at Nagpur Railway Station. He also launched phase-I of the Nagpur Metro and laid the foundation stone of Metro Phase II.
As per the PMO’s statement, the Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth Rs 75,000 crore during his visit the Nagpur. In Vidharbha, PM Modi will also launch and inaugurate railway projects worth over Rs 1,500 crore.
Later in Goa, PM Modi will address the World Ayurveda Congress's valedictory function and inaugurate three national Ayurvedic institutes.
