Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida visited Buddha Jayanti Park on March 20. PM Kishida arrived in India today on a two-day visit. He was received by Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar at the airport in Delhi.
During the visit to the Buddha Jayanti Park, both the Prime Ministers walked together and visited the Bal Bodhi tree, a venerated tree with deep roots to Gautam Buddha's time. They also laid flowers at the tree and paid their respects.

PM Kishida said that that during his stay in India, he will announce a new plan for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
The partnership between India and Japan ranges in various sectors, including defence and security, trade and investment, Science and Technology, Education, healthcare, and critical and emerging technologies.
