A man allegedly slit his throat and ran in public with a knife and a pistol near Delhi’s Nathu Colony chowk on the evening of March 16.
Residents of the locality informed the police about the man, after which a PCR van rushed to the scene.
According to the police, when some people and cops tried to overpower the man, he injured a policeman and snatched his service pistol. He also opened fire (one round) in public and ran away.
In the video clip shared by ANI, the man could be seen running on a busy road with a knife and a piston in his hands. His t-shirt is seen soaked in blood.

Later, the police caught the man and recovered the service pistol from his possession. The police also rushed him to a hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
The man has been identified as 29-year-old Krishan Sherwal. According to the police, he was separated from his wife and is going through some kind of depression.
A case has been registered against Sherwal under sections 307/394/397/186/353 of the IPC and 27 Arms Act at MS Park Police Station.
Further investigation is underway.
