Watch: Congress’ DK Shivakumar showers Rs 500 notes during roadshow in Karnataka

Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar was seen showering Rs 500 currency notes on the crowd gathered to see his roadshow in Mandya district’s Bevinahalli on March 28.

In the clip shared by news agency ANI, the congress leader can be seen holding a roadshow in Bevinahalli. He then seen flinging Rs 500 notes from the rooftop of a bus during the party campaign.


According to ANI, the Karnataka Congress chief was seen throwing Rs 500 currency notes on the artists gathered to see the roadshow. Shivkumar was taking out the grand-old-party’s ‘Praja Dhwani Yatra’ ahead of the state election.

DK Shivkumar is a veteran leader of Congress and is seen as the party's chief minister candidate. He is campaigning extensively in Mandya district to gain more votes of the people, especially the Vokkaliga community, which has a stronghold in the district.

The Congress leader, a Vokkaliga, is attempting to strengthen the party's vote base in Mandya, which is said to be a Janata Dal (Secular) bastion.

Mandya district is considered to be the Janata Dal (Secular) bastion. In 2018 election, the JDS won seven seats here.

The grand-old-party has recently issued its first list for the 224-member assembly, announcing 124 candidates.

Currently, The BJP has a total of 121 seats in the Karnataka assembly, the Congress has 70 and the JDS has 30 seats.
