Vijay Mallya denies repayment offer linked to his extradition case; says, 'my appeal is 'please take the money'

Fugitive liquor baron Vijay Mallya rubbishing all the links to his settlement proposal to banks of full amount payment with his upcoming extradition verdict or recent extradition of Christian Michel, the accused middleman in AgustaWestland chopper deal, to India from Dubai.

Business tycoon, Mallya took Twitter to offer to pay back the principal loan amount that he owes to them. His offer was, however, linked with his upcoming verdict in UK court and Christian Michel, that he is fearing extradition following which he has offered to pay the amount.

"Respectfully to all commentators, I cannot understand how my extradition decision or the recent extradition from Dubai and my settlement offer are linked in any way. Wherever I am physical, my appeal is "Please take the money". I want to stop the narrative that I stole money," Vijay Mallya tweeted.

The 62-year-old Vijay Mallya made his first appeal on Wednesday in a series of tweets, offering to repay 100 per cent of the principal amount. He said that the huge loans he took from banks went into keeping his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines afloat despite high jet fuel prices.
