Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyer, who recently broke his long-time silence on his ‘neech aadmi’ remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, abused journalists. When the senior Congress leader was questioned by the journalists over his neech jibe on Tuesday, he reportedly got infuriated and used an expletive and abusive tongue for the reporters.

Aiyar also called PM Modi a ‘coward.’ It all happened when a few TV reporters met the Congress leader at the Punjab government guest house in Shimla and quizzed him over an article he wrote, breaking his silence on his slur he directed at PM Modi in 2017. Aiyar then lost his temper.

"Don't you know there is a person in India, Narendra Modi. Haven't you heard about his sharp attacks? Go and ask him questions," he told them in Hindi. "No, He doesn't talk to you as he is a coward. He doesn't talk to the media," he said.

Aiyar then raised his arms, waiving the reporter about in an apparent imitation of Modi. He made a fist at the journalists and pushed away a microphone. "You won't ask me any question," he warned one of them.

He then used an expletive in English and asked them to leave. “Just F**k off,” Aiyar said.

Referring to Modi in his article in Rising Kashmir and The Print, Mani Shankar Aiyar broke his silence on his December 2017 remark against PM Narendra Modi. Aiyar wrote, "Remember how I described him on 7 December 2017? Was I not prophetic?"

In December 2017 during the Gujarat Assembly elections, Aiyar had called PM Modi a 'neech aadmi'. "Ye aadmi bahut neech kisam ka aadmi hai, is mein koi sabhyata nahi hai, aur aise mauke par is kisam ki gandi rajniti karne ki kya avashyakta hai?" he was quoted as saying by ANI.
