A man who is accused in a triple murder case is now suspected of killing his wife as well, whose body was found last week in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh.

The accused, Santosh Ram, who is currently absconding, is believed to be responsible for the death of his wife, Chandra Devi, whose body was discovered in their house on the night of May 13.

According to the police, Santosh allegedly murdered his 68-year-old aunt, Hemanti Devi, along with her daughter and daughter-in-law, following an argument on the same day. In their efforts to apprehend the accused, the police have intensified the manhunt and are employing drones and a dog squad.

The house where the body of the accused's wife was found had been recently purchased by him. The doors were locked from the outside, and the woman's body was discovered by her children, who had to break open the door after receiving no response from inside the house.

Pithoragarh SP Lokeshwar Singh stated that a team of 60 members, including personnel from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), has been formed to search for and apprehend Santosh Ram in the Ramganga valley and Gangolihat areas. The team is also utilizing drones and a dog squad to aid in their efforts.

There are also suspicions that the accused may have taken his own life after committing the quadruple murders. Further investigation is currently underway.
