UP Police use drones to curb spurious liquor trade ahead of Holi
In preparation for the upcoming Holi festival, the Uttar Pradesh Police conducted a security check operation in Muzaffarnagar district to curb cross-border trading of spurious liquor.
The police utilized unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to monitor the jungle area under the Bhopa Police Station limits along the Uttarakhand-Uttar Pradesh border.
In addition to the aerial surveillance, the police also conducted raids on the houses of individuals with a history of bootlegging.
Bhopa Circle Officer Ram Ashish Yadav stated that this operation is a part of the police's ongoing campaign against illicit liquor consumption.
He added that the surveillance campaign against illegal liquor was carried out under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police, Muzaffarnagar and Superintendent of Police, Rural.
Yadav further explained that the drone cameras were used in every area adjacent to the Uttarakhand border under the police station Bhopa.
The houses of those accused of being involved in illegal liquor cases in the past were also raided.
These preparations were all carried out in view of the upcoming Holi festival.
