Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 29 August presided over the inaugural programme of the first employment summit in the state and heaped praises on the youth of the state, saying that they are capable of achieving anything.
"Nobody is ineligible in the state. They just need support and the state government will do everything it can to support them," he said at the summit.
Adityanath also spoke about how the farmers were not getting adequate support before his government came to power.
"The previous government promised Rs. 1,460 as the support price to the farmers. But they only received Rs. 1,000," he said.
Adityanath added that the government intends to come up with different industries for different districts.
He said, "We have 75 districts, and some have their traditional industries as well. We hope that every district could be known by their own industries."
Earlier, Chief Minister Adityanath had said that he was keen to generate employment opportunities for citizens of the state, and for this, his government has come out with an Industrial Investment and Employment Generation Policy-2017.
To woo industries, the Government of Uttar Pradesh launched this comprehensive policy, which involves creating land banks, promoting country-specific industrial parks to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and helping set up private industrial parks around Lucknow-Kanpur, Kanpur-Allahabad, and Varanasi-Allahabad zones.
The sectors to be focussed upon include information technology, Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS), electronics manufacturing, agro and food processing, dairy, green energy, handloom, textile, and tourism.
