As the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls concluded, the regional parties of Uttar Pradesh are structuring to be the king-maker and in the process, PSP chief Shivpal Yadav has praised UP CM Yogi Adityanath stating that he is an ‘honest man.’
Shivpal Yadav, who broke away from the Samajwadi Party after a bitter clash with Akhilesh Yadav, had floated his own outfit Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party and is contesting from the Uttar Pradesh. Shivpal is contesting from Firozabad, and the interesting part of the story is that his nephew, Akshay Yadav is also contesting from the same seat on Samajwadi Party’s ticket.
While praising UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Shivpal Yadav said, “Yogi ji is honest, I agree to that but he does not have control over bureaucrats. Corruption has increased in Uttar Pradesh and the people of UP are in distress.”

Although, the PSP chief slammed the BJP’s stand over religious rhetoric and also took a jibe at Yogi Adityanath’s comment over ‘Ali-Bajrangbali’ remark and said that they are secular people and every religion has a right to co-exist.
Shivpal had said, “We are secular people. Every religion has the right to live in this country. Whenever elections come, BJP incites a fight between Hindu-Muslim.”
The ‘Ali-Bajrangbali’ remark has taken a toll over the political leaders and post Yogi’s comment, BSP’s Mayawati, SP’s Azam Khan have taken a gig.
Yogi Adityanath, while rallying in Meerut had said, “Mayawati in her speech in Saharanpur says that if they get Muslim votes, then they will not need any other's vote. If Congress, SP, and BSP trust Ali, then we have faith in Bajrangbali.”
