UP CM Yogi Adityanath grants Rs 260 crore to Hindu 'Akhadas' ahead of Kumbh Mela 2019

To provide a Hindutva push to the ideology of BJP and RSS, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered to provide Rs 260 crore to the Hindu Akhada.

Earlier too, the UP government had reportedly given Rs 500 crore to three Akhadas of Allahabad.

From this money, the governing bodies of concerned akhadas will develop basic facilities. And as per reports, the Yogi government is pushing the agenda of Hindutva as the elections are approaching and the state election of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are around the corner.

However, the latest grant will be distributed among the remaining 10 akhadas of the state, after the earlier three had received a hefty amount from the state government.

It is legitimate to mention here that between January 14 and March 04, Ardh Kumbh will take place in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

The UP government has reportedly even suggested to change the name of the city Allahabad to Prayag during the Kumbh Mela, which will be a gift from the Yogi government towards the citizens of the state.

Roughly, around 12 crore devotees will visit the Kumbha Nagari to take holy dips.

In total the state government is planning to spend Rs 4200 crore for the Ardh Kumbh.

The Uttar Pradesh government under Yogi Adityanath has given a major push to these events seeking a consolidation of votes for the Lok Sabha election scheduled for 2019 and the state elections lined up for November and December this year in Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Mizoram etc.
