Earlier on Thursday, Rahul took Twitter to criticize the politics made over the cruel rape and murder of eight-year-old Muslim girl in J&K's Kathua district. He termed the crime as one of 'unimaginable brutality' that can not be ignored.
"How can anyone protect the culprits of such evil? What happened to Kathua girl at Kathua is a crime against humanity. It cannot go unpunished. What have we become if we allow politics to interfere with such unimaginable brutality perpetrated on an innocent child?" he tweeted.
The probe in the Kathua gangrape and murder case has disclosed that the deceased was kidnapped in a temple, drugged, and repeatedly gang-raped, even before her murder to scare the Muslim Bakerwal community to leave the village. Eight people have been held by the cops, including two Special Police Officers (SPOs) and a head constable, who was charged with destroying evidence.
