Union Minister Piyush Goyal is being trolled on social media for wrongly attributing the discovery of gravity to Einstein. Netizens were quick to notice the mistake and pointed out to the railway minister that Newton was the one who discovered gravity and not Einstein.
Piyush Goyal was talking to reporters when he said, “If you're looking at a five trillion dollar economy, the country will have to grow at 12%. Today it's growing at 6%," he said. "Don't get into those maths. Those maths have never helped Einstein discover gravity... If you'd only gone by structured formula and what was past knowledge, I don't think there would have been any innovation in this world.”
Among the many who trolled Mr. Goyal was former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh. Mr. Ramesh took to his official twitter handle to troll the minister as he wrote, “Yes, Mr. Minister. Einstein did not need maths to discover gravity since Newton already had. Now wait for HRD Minister to say that long before Newton our ancients knew all about gravity (or has he already?) With such ministers, only God can #FixTheEconomy.”

Yesterday, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman also faced backlash on social media after her comment linking millennials’ preference for Ola and Uber cabs to auto sector crisis.
