The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has organized a ceremony for its seven canines who served the para-military force and retired with full honours on Tuesday.

Seven CISF dogs have received the honour on their retirement. They have been given mementos, medals, and certificates by the CISF unit of Delhi Metro (DMRC) on 19 November.

Notably, these dogs were part of the CISF team attached to Delhi Metro. These canines have been retired from their position after serving eight years with the para-military force.

As per the reports, it was the first time that CISF canines have received such honour on retirement, from the unit.

These dogs joined the CISF after taking a basic training of six months at the CISF Dog Breeding Training Centre at CISF 5th Reserve Battalion, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. After completion of training, these canines were detailed to perform some essential tasks of keeping DMRC safe and secure from multi-dimensional threats.

CISF took to Twitter and shared some pictures of the ceremony along with a caption, “Born as a dog, retired as a soldier...A Farewell ceremony for 07 #K9 members of #CISF organized @ CISF Unit DMRC Delhi. They were handed over to NGO @Friendicoes_DEL, New Delhi. Thank you for your services !”

Also, CISF posted a farewell message and thanked these real CISF soldiers with an emotional message.

“#CISF bids farewell to our K9 heroes- Jessy (GSD/F), Lucky (Lab/F) & Lovely (Lab/F) who officially retired from duty today. We will always remain indebted for contributing immensely in the security of Delhi Metro,” CISF tweet reads.

As per the CISF official statement, these highly trained retired dogs will be handed over to a Delhi-based NGO who will take care of them.

Delhiites will surely miss these brave soldiers canines who have given them a safe journey in Delhi Metro.
