Amidst election season in Telangana, the war of words has been on a high level in the state. On Sunday Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attacked AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi in Telangana that if BJP comes to power in the Telangana, Owaisi will have to flee like Nizams.
Responding to CM Yogi Adityanath, Owaisi said that no one can force him to flee as India is his father's country. "It is my religious belief that Prophet Adam when he descended on the Earth from Paradise, came to India. Thus India is my father's country and nobody can force me to flee," the Hyderabad MP told an election rally on Sunday night.
On Sunday, speaking at an election rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at tandur in Telangana, Adityanath had said that if his party comes to power in Telangana, Owaisi will flee the way Nizams had to flee Hyderabad.
"If BJP comes to power, I assure you Asaduddin Owaisi will have to run away from Telangana the same way the Nizam was forced to run away from Hyderabad," Yogi Adityanath said, addressing an election meeting ahead of the December 7 polls to the 119-member Telangana assembly seats.
Owaisi said the Uttar Pradesh chief minister was ignorant of the history as Nizams did not flee Hyderabad.
"Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan did not flee Hyderabad. He was made 'Raj Pramukh' and when there was war with China, he offered his gold to India," he said.
The AIMIM MP said he would not be scared by such threats and propaganda. "This is only Yogi's speech but the language and mentality are of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.
"We are not the ones who will flee. Our 1,000 generations will live here," the AIMIM leader said at a public meeting.
Polling for the assembly election in Telangana is scheduled on 7 December along with Rajasthan and the counting of votes on 11 December.
