Sridevi Funeral Live Updates: The country cries as 'Chandni' leaves for heaven

The final journey of Bollywood's Chandni has now begun. Many celebrities like Madhuri Dixit, Akshay Khanna, Sonam Kapoor, Tabu, Jacqueline Fernandez and many more gathered to pay their respects and condolence to the actress at Celebration Sports Club in Lokhandwala, Andheri.

The prayer hall has since opened its doors to allow the grieving public to pay their last respects to the late actress. Thousands of fans gathered outside the club to mourn and pay their condolence to the late Sridevi.

5.30 PM (IST) The last rites of the cremation were performed by Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor in the presence of the family and other people. 

4.19 PM (IST) Huge crowd gathers outside the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium to witness the last look of the actress.

4.00 PM (IST) Randhir Kapoor, Prasoon Joshi, Shah Rukh Khan and Rajiv Kapoor arrive at the cremation ground.

3.56 PM (IST) The mortal remains of Veteran actress Sridevi has finally reached the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium ground.

3.45 PM (IST) As per the latest reports by the media, the mortal remains of  Veteran actress Sridevi is about to reach the cremation ground.

3.30 PM (IST) The fans of the actress are present on both the sides of the road.

3:15 PM (IST) On one hand where many celebrities are paying visit to catch the last glimpse of the actress, Priety Zinta, who is currently in abroad has posted an adorable message on her Instagram account. Her message read as, "Almost everyone I know has gone to say goodbye to her in Mumbai. I’m on the other side of the globe, it’s midnight & I cannot sleep. Right now a part of my childhood, burns Into ashes & dust. Sridevi my icon is gone. I close my eyes & see Hawa Hawai smiling at me. She will always be in my heart. I wish her peace & freedom. I’m so sad I did not get to say goodbye. I’m upset & angry to see people stoop so low and the media circus. Everyone wants to gain from her departure. As her fan I hate it & I hate them. How dare they try to take her dignity in death? I will not let this happen. Sridevi is and always will be the Brightest Star. A powerhouse of talent, spontaneity & sensuality. She will always will be my Hawa Hawaii. Thank you for being so gracious & sweet & most of all thank you for making me fall in love with cinema. I love you." 

3:07 PM (IST) The mortal remains of Sridevi, in a beautifully decorated truck with white flowers has moved forward from Kokilaben Hospital. 

2: 30 PM (IST) Thousands of fans follows Sridevi’s cortege and breaking down as their Chandni has started her last journey.  

2: 29 PM (IST) Sridevi's Husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Khushi and Janhvi were spotted by her side before the cortege began.
