A quiet neighbourhood in south Delhi was thrown into disarray as police announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the murder of 75-year-old Satish Kumar Bhardwaj. The brutal killing, which took place in Bhardwaj's home in Freedom Fighter Enclave in Neb Sarai, had left the victim with a severe head injury, and the floor covered in a pool of blood.
Investigation Begins
The police sprang into action upon receiving the call, and upon arriving at the crime scene, they found themselves in the midst of a bloodbath. Following a thorough investigation, the police analyzed CCTV footage from the area, which led them to two persons seen entering the victim's house.
Whitewashing the House
The footage also revealed that a group of people had been hired to whitewash the house just one week ago. The police then collected photos of both suspects from the footage and deployed local sources to gather human intelligence. Through surveillance and technical analysis, the suspects were identified, and a raid was conducted, leading to their arrest.
Evidence Uncovered
Both suspects, Ravi Kumar and Dharmender, were apprehended by the police and led to the recovery of 1 silver kada (belonging to the deceased), 1 small silver khadau, coins, and 2 hammers/cutters used as weapons of offense. The police have booked both suspects under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
Investigation Continues
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter and are working to determine the motive behind the heinous crime. Meanwhile, residents of the area are still reeling from the shock of the incident, which has left them fearing for their safety in what was once a peaceful locality.
