Six persons were injured in a clash between members of two communities here following an argument over a traffic-related issue, the police said today.
The incident took place in the Khadi Falia locality late last night.
"Two groups belonging to different communities clashed and indulged in stone-pelting. The police fired three teargas shells to control the mob," Godhra B-Division police station inspector M C Sangtyani said.
The officer said that an auto-rickshaw driver passing through the area objected to a motorcycle parked on the road. When he asked the owner of the motorcycle to remove it from the road, the latter started arguing, he said.
"Soon, the argument turned into a clash and members of both the communities started attacking each other. Six persons belonging to both the communities sustained minor injuries in stone pelting. We rushed to the site and fired three teargas shells to bring the situation under control," he said.
An offence has been registered in this regard. No arrest has been made so far, Sangtyani added.
