A shocking incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda where a 35-year-old woman has committed suicide on Monday after two rape accused got a clean chit from district police.
Reportedly, she has committed suicide by hanging herself from the roof of her residence in Kernalganj area of Gonda district on 14th January, a fortnight after the two accused got free from all charges imposed on them.

In September 2018, the victim and her husband had attempted self-immolation outside the Vidhan in Lucknow to raised their issue. The couple had accused the police of their laxity into the investigation.
The victim woman had accused Shankar Dayal and his brother Ashok Kumar for raping her several times in August last year.
As per the reports of HT, the case was investigated first by the local police and then by the district crime branch.
The investigation officer had given them a clean chit. However, the two accused are absconding.
Meanwhile, the superintendent of Police of Gonda RP Singh has suspended the investigating officers after the suicide and sent the station house officer (SHO_ of Kernalganj to the police lines.
Earlier on 7th August 2018, the Gonda Police had lodged an FIR under section 376 D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC along with relevant sections of IT against the accused.
On the other hand, victim’s husband said, 'The accused had not just raped her but also made a video clip of the act.' He also that his wife was upset after police gave them a clean chit, and so she committed suicide.
