In a spine-chilling event, a video of a young man allegedly brutally thrashing a woman is widely surfaced on the social media sites. In the video, the man named Rohit Tomar said to be a son of Delhi police sub-inspector, Ashok Kumar can be seen repeatedly threatening and beating up the girl. The girl is said to be his ex-girlfriend to whom he has repeatedly threatened to harm her with assault, acid attacks and abuse. and harassing for the for the past two-and-a-half months since their breakup.
While, the girl can be heard pleading for mercy, Sorry galti ho gayi...sorry galti ho gayi (I am sorry)," but Rohit continues to slap and kick her. "Collar pakdegi tu ...," the Rohit continues to assault her.
Things came to a head when an allegedly drunk Rohit turned up at her house Tuesday night.
According to The Print, Rohit used to harass her and throw stones at the girl's house. When her family came to know about it, they supported her to file a case against the man. “He started abusing us and throwing rocks at our house. I hadn’t told my family or anyone close to me that I was being harassed, but after they found out, they supported me in filing an FIR,” The 22-year-old woman told The Print.
According to The Print report, Rohit had sent a video to the girl about two weeks back where he was seen assaulting a woman. He threatened her with similar consequences if she doesn’t marry him. The video has surfaced on social media and is going viral ever since.
Rohit’s father, a sub-inspector by the name Ashok Kumar, also threatened Jyoti’s family using his position, according to her complaint. The Print quoted the complaint as saying: “…When we spoke to his father, he also started threatening us. His father is a sub-inspector in the Delhi Police, and he used his position to threaten us. His father also used bad words about me in front of everyone.”
According to the Tilak Nagar SHO, Rohit was once arrested and sent to court. However, his whereabouts are currently not known.
A case under section 354/506 IPC has been registered against Rohit Tomar. Further action is being taken to arrest him, a tweet by DCP West Delhi said.
