Many flight passengers found difficulties at Mumbai airport as several flights were delayed on Thursday morning as Air India’s contractual workers called a strike.
As per the reports, the contractual ground staff of Air India Air Transport Services Limited (AIATSL) were on strike since Diwali night i.e. 7th November night.
The reason behind their strike was the Diwali bonus. Yes, reports suggested that the workers were unpaid Diwali bonus due to which the flights at the airport got affected.
According to the new agency ANI, ‘Due to a sudden industrial situation at Mumbai airport by Air India Air Transport Services Limited (AIATSL) employees, some flights have got delayed. We are assessing the situation and all efforts are being made to minimise delays or disruption,’ said Air India spokesperson.
The flights from Mumbai were got delayed by two hours early morning.
The ground staff of AIATSL help the passenger for check in and also help with handling their baggage and other cargo. They also take up duties for foreign carriers on a contractual basis.
However, many passengers have taken to Twitter and wrote about the problem that they faced today morning.
