Savarkar Jayanti to be Celebrated in Government Schools

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has decided to celebrate Savarkar Jayanti and the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir as a festival in government schools. The Directorate of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, has released a calendar for the academic year 2024-2025, which includes these celebrations.

According to the calendar, Savarkar Jayanti will be celebrated on May 28, and the abrogation of Article 370 will be marked as a festival on August 5. The calendar also includes 233 working days, 39 holidays, 52 Sundays, and 80 other holidays and breaks.


The government has also introduced a 25-minute prayer session in schools, which will include the national anthem, yoga, Surya Namaskar, and a pledge to not consume tobacco products. The schools will also observe a 'No Bag Day' on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, where students will participate in various activities.

The academic session will start from July 1, 2025, and the final exams will be held from April 24 to May 8. The results will be declared on May 16.

The government has also announced that the district-level educational conference will be held on October 25 and 26, and the state-level conference will be held on January 17 and 18.

The calendar also includes a list of holidays and celebrations for each month, including Diwali, which will be observed from October 27 to November 7.

The government's decision to celebrate Savarkar Jayanti and the abrogation of Article 370 is seen as a move to promote nationalism and patriotism in schools.
