In an unprecedented incident in Uttarakhand, Saraswati Shishu Mandir school's building has collapsed in Gopeshwar after heavy rainfall in the region.
Rescue operation is underway and until now, there have been no reports of any casualty but the administration is still removing the debris.
The Uttarakhand administration has already declared holiday for schools in order with the IMD’s warning of rainfall and snow.
News agency ANI tweeted “Chamoli: Saraswati Shishu Mandir school's building collapses in Gopeshwar following heavy rainfall in the region. #Uttarakhand administration had declared holiday for the schools for today in view of warning of heavy rainfall and snow.”
