The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Telangana, Raja Singh, on Tuesday threatened Sanjay Leela Bhansali that he would have to pay if the history was distorted in his upcoming movie 'Padmavati'.
Speaking to ANI, Singh said, "If Padmavati has distorted history, Sanjay Leela Bhansali will have to pay the price. We won't allow its release in Telangana."
"In an attempt to earn money, the history is being misrepresented. Bhansali has made an attempt to bring a change in the history by portraying that Alauddin Khilji was in love with Queen Padmini," added the BJP MLA.
He even challenged Bhansali to make movies on Mughals, Taimur or Mohammad Prophet, adding, "I will invest for it."
"How dare you make movies on rulers who have exploited our country? He should not hurt the sentiments of Hindus," said Singh.
