The Sabarimala temple row has now reached its culmination, as activist Trupti Desai has reached Cochin International Airport to visit the temple tomorrow.
Trupti Desai had earlier written a letter to the Kerala DGP and CM Pinarayi Vijayan demanding security for her as she had received threats, as to not visit the temple. The activist has played an active role in letting the women enter the Haji Ali Dargah and Shani Shignapur in Mumbai.
Trupti, the founder of Bhumata Brigade, had earlier said that, “team of 7 women will visit the temple. Receiving threats since yesterday. I believe govt will provide us security.”
She has currently arrived at the Cochin International Airport and has been inside since the morning, as the protesters have gathered outside the premises of the airport and are ready to attack the slain activist. Trupti has reached with a group of women to enter the temple.
“Protesters gather outside Cochin International Airport. Trupti Desai, the founder of Bhumata Brigade, has arrived at the airport from Pune. Security has been heightened. She had written to Kerala CM seeking security for her visit to SabrimalaT emple on 17 November,” the news agency ANI had tweeted.
Giving open threats to the activist Trupti Desai, MN Gopi of the Bhartiya Janta Party, who is present outside the Cochin Airport has said, “Won't allow Trupti Desai to go out from airport using police vehicle or other govt means.Airport taxies also won't take her.If she wants, she can use her own vehicle. There will be agitations all along her way even if she goes out from airport.”
