In a major development in leading daily Rising Kashmir's Editor Shujaat Bukhari death case, security forces on Wednesday gunned down his killer and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist Naveed Jatt. Shujaat Bukhari was murdered on June 14 outside his office premises. Jatt and another terrorist were killed by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district.
The Pakistan-based terrorist Jatt killed five months after the LeT terrorists and two local militants killed senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari.
After terrorists opened fire on security forces who had launched a cordon and search operation in Kuthpora area of Budgam following information about the presence of militants. The firing was retaliated by the forces, leading to a gun battle, an official said.

Jatt is a Pakistan-based terrorist, who had escaped from police custody at a Srinagar hospital on February 6 and killed journalist Bukhari on June 14.
The authorities have snapped internet services in Budgam as a precautionary measure. In March, a video had surfaced showing Jatt with Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in a forest area of south Kashmir.
The editor-in-chief of English daily Rising Kashmir, Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead by militants when he came out of his office in Press Enclave and was boarding his car. His two guards were also killed in the attack.
