Cricketer Rishabh Pant, who met with a terrible accident a day back, is likely to be airlifted to Delhi for further treatment. Delhi and District Cricket Association Director Shyam Sharma on December 31 said that a DDCA team will visit the Max Hospital in Dehradun to monitor the star Indian cricketer’s health and if needed the batter-wicketkeeper would be airlifted to Delhi for his plastic surgery.
“A team of Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) is going to Max Hospital Dehradun to monitor his health, if required we'll shift him to Delhi and chances are high that we'll airlift him to Delhi for plastic surgery,” Sharma said.
Rishabh Pant was seriously injured in a road accident while driving home from Delhi to Roorkee. The mishap took place yesterday morning on the Narsan border of Roorkee near Hammadpur Jhal in Uttarakhand.
Sharma said that Pant might be airlifted to the national capital for further surgery as he suffered multiple injuries in the car crash.
The 25-year-old was alone in the luxury car and suffered severe injuries on his back, forehead and leg.
The cricketer narrowly escaped death after his luxury car collided with the road barrier on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. He reportedly fell asleep while driving the car.
"He was going to Roorkee to meet his relatives. The accident happened because he fell asleep at the wheel a kilometre ahead of Narsan towards Roorkee," Superintendent of Police SK Singh said as quoted by ANI.
Bollywood actors Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor reached Dehradun this morning and met the injured cricketer. After meeting Pant, the actors said that the 25-year-old cricketer is recovering well and appealed countrymen to pray for his speedy recovery.

Rishabh Pant got two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in right knee and also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and suffered abrasion injuries on his back.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wished the cricketer a speedy recovery and that the state will extend all possible support to him including the facility of an air ambulance if required.
Wicket-keeper and batter Pant has represented India in 33 Test matches scoring 2271 runs at an average of 43.67 with five Test tons to his name with his highest score being 159 not out. Pant has 119 catches and 14 stumpings to his name.
In ODIs, he has 865 runs to his name in 30 matches at an average of 34.60 with five half-centuries and one ton with a strike rate of 106.65. With the gloves, Pant has 26 catches and one stumping to his name.
In 66 T20I the wicket-keeper batter has scored 987 runs with three half-centuries to his name at an average of 22.43 with a strike rate of 126.37.
