Telangana's first woman Parliamentarian K. Kavitha on Monday celebrated Rakshabandhan by tying a rakhi and gifting a helmet to her brother KT Rama Rao, as a part of promotional campaign 'Gift a Helmet'.
The Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) member reportedly said, "this Raksha Bandhan, let's all sisters come together and make sure all our brothers wear helmets," to popularise her innovative online campaign on road safety.
It was in service of an online campaign she has begun to ensure two-wheeler riders wear helmets when riding

She launched the mission on her brother's birthday on July 24.
Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Odisha, Siddaramaiah and Naveen Patnaik respectively and many others have joined Kavitha's campaign to promote the use of helmets.
