Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday, August 20, paid tributes to their father, former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi on his 78th birth anniversary at Vir Bhumi.

In 1984, Rajiv Gandhi took over the charge of the Congress party after the assassination of his mother and then PM Indira Gandhi. At the age of 40, he took the oath and became the youngest Prime Minister of India. Gandhi served as the sixth PM of the country between 1984-89 before he was assassinated by the LTTE terrorists in the year1991.
