The India Metrological Department (IMD) has forecast a new spell of cold wave to severe cold wave in several parts of Rajasthan, beginning from tomorrow. It has also issued yellow and orange alerts for several districts.
Orange alerts have been issued for the following districts:
The weather department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ till 16 January, starting tomorrow.
Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, and Nagaur.
Yellow alerts have been issued for the following districts:
The weather department has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ till 16 January, starting tomorrow.
Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaipur, Karauli, Madhopur, Tonk, and Sri Ganganagar.
As per IMD, Alwar has become the coldest place in the desert state with a minimum temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded was 22.4 degrees Celsius.
The nighttime temperature recorded in Bikaner was 9.1 degrees Celsius, 9.2 degrees Celsius in Sangaria, Hanumangarh. 9.6 degrees Celsius in Churu. The minimum temperature in Anta, Baran, was 9.9 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature of 30.7 degrees Celsius was recorded in Tonk. 28.6 degrees Celsius in Chittorgarh, 28 degrees Celsius in Barmer, 27.4 degree Celsius in Dungarpur, 27.3 in Baran, and the maximum daytime temperature recorded in Bhilwara was 27.1 degrees Celsius.
The minimum and maximum temperatures in the capital city Jaipur was 13.4 and 23.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to IMD Department, there are no signs of showers in the state.
Meanwhile, cold wave and dense fog conditions have improved in parts of north India, but the relief is temporary as the weather department has warned of a fresh cold wave in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi beginning January 14.
The IMD said the minimum temperature in the northwest and central India is expected to fall by 3-5 degrees Celsius from January 14. The night temperature in eastern India is likely to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius from January 15.
