Rajasthan Question Paper Leak Case

After bulldozing parts of a coaching institute - run by the key accused in the RPSC question paper leak case pertaining to Grade II teacher recruitment - the Rajasthan Government on January 13 demolished parts of the house in Jaipur that belongs to Bhupendra Saran, who is one of the accused in the question paper leak case.

Bhupendra Saran, one of the masterminds of the RPSC paper leak case, is currently absconding from the police.

Earlier in the day, a team from the enforcement wing of the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) reached the accused’s house demolished its illegal parts. According to officials, they have bulldozed only those parts which are illegal as per JDA’s guidelines.

“We are demolishing the illegally constructed parts of the house. These constructions are illegal as per the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) guidelines,” said Raghuveer Saini, Chief Enforcement Officer, JDA.

“While demolition, we have also taken care of not creating any harm to other properties or the residents in the area. We have only demolished the illegal parts & haven't touched the other legal constructions on the property,” Saini added.

Earlier, Saran was given time to respond to the JDA’s notice – put up on January 10 - stating his house would be demolished within 72 hours. The Rajasthan High Court yesterday ordered the JDA tribunal to give its decision on the petition filed by Saran's wife by today, giving the accused one more day to respond.

A bench of the Rajasthan HC directed the JDA tribunal to give a decision on the petition expeditiously. Following the directions, the JDA court ordered yesterday that the hearing would be held today morning and the demolition would be held off until then.

The police have arrested as many as 55 people on December 25 - the day of the second-grade teacher recruitment exam – after it was discovered that some applicants had accessed the question paper before the exam.
