Rajasthan: Gehlot Govt transfers 75 IPS officers

75 IPS officers transffered

In a massive reshuffle in the Rajasthan Police Department, the government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot transferred 75 IPS officers last night, on February 13th.

As per the list issued by the Department of Personnel, Superintendents of Police (SP) of 19 districts, two deputy commissioners of police in the Jaipur commissionerate, and Range IGs of Jodhpur and Udaipur were among those transferred.


Additional Director Generals of Police Sushmit Biswas, Prashakha Mathur, Dinesh MN, Sanjib Kumar and Vishal Bansal have also been transferred, the list stated.

Additional Director General (ADG) (Crime) Raviprakash Meherda has been appointed as DG Civil Rights and Cyber Crime and Armed Battalion, ADG Janga Srinivas Rao has been made DG Training.

In the major reshuffle, Superintendents of Police (SPs) of Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Sikar, Baran, Jodhpur Rural, Barmer, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur Rural, Ganganagar, Dungarpur, Bhiwadi, Alwar, Jalore, Banswara, Churu and Tonk; and Deputy Commissioners of Police of Jaipur North Jaipur East, Pratapgarh, Dholpur, and Rajsamand were also transferred.

Recently, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot held a meeting with IGs and DSPs and directed them to take stringent action to curb organised crime in the state.

Addressing the meeting of IGs and DSPs through video conferencing at the CM residence on Monday, Gehlot said “The campaign against organised crime in the state should continue aggressively and strict action should be taken against those who follow and support gangsters and criminals on social media, provide shelter and financial assistance.

He also directed the officials to run an awareness campaign against drug abuse in the state.

“For boosting the morale of the policemen who have done excellent work against crime, they should be given rewards and promotions. But, at the same time, strict action should also be taken in case of laxity,” he added.
