Rajasthan Assembly Election 2018 Results: Ashok Gehlot to be the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan, media reports

Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot to be the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan, suggest media reports. The sources also said that Congress state president Sachin Pilot will be the new Deputy Chief Minister, reported IndiaToday.

Ashok Gehlot was contesting from Sardarpura and won, during early trends of results said that he  confident that Congress would form the government in Rajasthan.


However, Gehlot had also added that decision on the chief minister's post would be taken by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and party members of the legislative assembly (MLAs).

Gehlot gave all the credits to Rahul Gandhi for the party's good performance in all the five states, including Rajasthan.

"We are confident that the Congress will get a clear majority and will for its government in Rajasthan," Mr Gehlot told news agency Press Trust of India. He said Rahul Gandhi raised key issues concerning the people because of which Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "graph came down".
