The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is making statements against the saffron outfit and its ideologue Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) because he is not able to digest the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP leader GVL Narsimha Rao said that the Gandhi scion's comments reek of dynastic arrogance, and are aimed at seeking media attention.
"Rahul Gandhi is unable to digest the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His comments reek of dynastic arrogance. His understanding of politics and governance is pathetic. And on top of it, he engages into such commentary to gain only media attention. Such comments are lowering his prospects further," said Rao.
Another BJP leader S. Prakash slammed Gandhi for targeting RSS and said that the Congress leader should read the history of the RSS before making any comment against the organisation.
