Rahul Gandhi takes a dig at PM Modi on petrol prices cut by 'one paise' and calls it a prank
Congress chief Rahul Gandhi taking a dig on PM Narendra Modi over the fuel price reduction by one paisa per litre stated it as an idea of a prank in a response to his FuelChallenge, that he threw last week. As earlier, PM Modi accepted the “fitness challenge” last week, dare by India cricket captain Virat Kohli, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi dared PM Modi a Fuel Challenge to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel.
The Congress chief took Twitter to attack PM Modi over the reduction whole '1 paisa' from the petrol price calling it 'childish and in poor taste'. Gandhi tweeted, “Dear PM, You've cut the price of Petrol and Diesel today by 1 paisa. ONE paisa!?? If this is your idea of a prank, it’s childish and in poor taste. P.S. A ONE paisa cut is not a suitable response to the #FuelChallenge I threw you last week.”

As the fuel prices are on fire like hike, in a major relief for the common, middle-class people today across the country the Indian Oil Corporation released an official statement of cutting down petrol prices by 60 paise per litre. Which was later revised by IOCL issuing another statement that there was only 1 paisa cut in the petrol prices on Wednesday in the capital city of Delhi and not 60 paise.

According to the revised prices published, one litre of petrol retailed at Rs 78.42 in Delhi; Rs 81.05 in Kolkata; Rs 86.23 in Mumbai; and Rs 81.42 in Chennai, all implying a 1 paisa cut from yesterday’s prices. Initially, the 59 paisa cut had come as a welcome relief, as it was a major reduction after 16 consecutive days of hike following the Karnataka polls.
