The Netflix original web series Sacred Games starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte and Saif Ali Khan is an online web series based on Vikram Chandra’s novel by the same name. Congress chief Rahul Gandhi slammed BJP for the insulting content for his father and took twitter to express his views on it. He said his father lived and died for India and a fictional series cannot change the fact.
He also attacked BJP and RSS that they believe the freedom of expression must be policed and controlled. Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “BJP/RSS believe the freedom of expression must be policed & controlled. I believe this freedom is a fundamental democratic right. My father lived and died in the service of India. The views of a character on a fictional web series can never change that.”

The Netflix original, Sacred Games has scenes in which a character hits out at the Congress for the Emergency imposed by the Indira Gandhi government, the Bofors scandal and the Shah Bano case that created a storm during Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure as Prime Minister.
Sacred Games is facing a legal petition over the removal of the 'abusive' content from the web series on the grounds of insulting former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. On July 10, Congress' West Bengal worker filed a complaint against makers of the Netflix India show Sacred Games for allegedly defaming late former Prime Minister and Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi.
According to reports, Congressman Rajiv Sinha filed the FIR against Netflix, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and producers of Sacred Games. Sacred Games is directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. Sacred Games has won hearts of millions of people for its excellent storytelling, drama and suspense.
