As the Supreme Court read out its verdict in the Rafale matter on the admissible evidence issue, the Congress president Rahul Gandhi jumped the guns and reacted saying that the top court has accepted that ‘Chowkidar Chor hai.’
While the Congress president Rahul Gandhi attributed the remarks to the Supreme Court, the BJP went a step ahead and filed a criminal contempt plea against the Gandhi scion alleging that he has ‘made a contempt by misleading statement.’
Union Minister Arun Jaitley took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi and tweeted that he has ‘manufactured the court’s order for political agenda’ and the BJP leader called it a new low for the Congress and said that “the lower he sinks, the higher we rise.”
To manufacture a Court order for a political propaganda is a new low for Rahul Gandhi. The lower he sinks, the higher we rise.

“Truth holds together. Falsehood falls apart. Rahul Gandhi needs to learn this preliminary lesson of public discourse,” Jaitley tweeted, adding that “In Rahul Gandhi’s politics, the Right to Free Speech includes the Right to Falsehood. Dynasts are also subject to the Supreme Court.”
The Supreme Court, while hearing the review plea in the Rafale jet deal case by senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan, had held that the document and evidence presented by The Hindu led N. Ram would act as an admissible evidence and it is a part of investigative journalism.
Earlier, it was the Supreme Court which had given a clean chit to the BJP led NDA government in the matter and had held that no doubts can be raised on the pricing issue and the offset partners.
