'Rahul Gandhi is undoubtedly PM material,' says RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav backing Congress with his whole heart

The young RJD leader and son of former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav says Rahul Gandhi is undoubtedly Prime Minister material candidate of a united opposition on Friday. Yadav wholeheartedly came forward to back Congress and it's apparent.

Tejashwi shares a good rapport with Rahul Gandhi and Gandhi scion and has held numerous meetings with him in the past few months. But till now, he had hedged his bets and never spelt out his support for Rahul openly.

Talking to media, young RJD leader, for the first time openly said that he considers Congress chief Rahul Gandhi as a PM Material. Tejashwi said he sees nothing wrong with what Rahul and responded in the affirmative when asked point black if he would support him for PM’s post. “Sure. I would not mind him,” he said.

When Yadav was asked if other oppositions like Mamata Banerjee, Mayawati or Akhilesh Yadav too would also back Rahul, the young leader gave a cautious response. Tejashwi said it is essential that the oppositions, which has been buoyed by the string of victories in bypolls, stay united. “It is essential because we have to put a stop to Nagpur deciding the law of the land,” he said, referring to the RSS’s influence in government’s policies.
