India withdraws Pakistan's 'Most Favored Nation' status with immediate effect; 'Foreign Ministry to isolate Pakistan'

As the high level meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security concluded, India has decided to withdraw Pakistan’s ‘Most Favored Nation’ status with immediate effect.

In a press brief by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the CCS has decided to tackle Pakistan through diplomatic ties and initiate steps which would isolate the neighbor country for its direct involvement in the Pulwama attack.


Jaitley said, “MEA to initiate all possible diplomatic steps to ensure complete isolation of Pakistan for having direct link with the gruesome attack at Pulwama yesterday. Most Favoured Nation status to Pak withdrawn.”

Arun Jaitley further said that incontrovertible evidence of Pakistan's hand in Pulwama attack, and said that those responsible will have to "pay a heavy price.”

After the high level CCS meet, it is decided that “security forces will be taking all possible steps to ensure full security is maintained and to ensure those who committed the heinous act and those who supported it will have to pay heavy price for it,” stated Arun Jaitley.
