As the voting for the third phase of the Lok Sabha election concludes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rallied in West Bengal and took a jab at ruling Trinamool Congress for ‘the rising corruption and crime rate’ in the state.

In a rally here at Asansol in Bengal, PM Modi recalled Congress party’s corruption in the UPA-2 time and added that “Speed breaker Didi” also promoted corruption and crime at non-stop rate.

Before 2014, Congress govt had made a record of corruption. Today TMC government is giving tough competition to the Congress. Corruption & crime are non-stop in TMC rule. And 'Speed-breaker Didi' is also there,” said PM Modi at the rally.

West Bengal is all set to vote in all the seven phases of the elections, wherein three pahses have been concluded and last four are left. With 42 seats in its pocket, the state holds a significance in the Lok Sabha polls wherein the BJP is trying make inland and the Mamata Banerjee has been afraid of the rise of the saffron party in the state.

Calling out the TMC’s ‘bluff’ that they call actors in their rallies as not much crowd gathers in the campaign, PM Modi alleged that “Today TMC's condition has become such that people are not turning up for their rallies, they are forced to call actors from abroad. I feel pity for you didi, look what the brave people of Bengal have done to you.”

Although, a Mahagathbandhan was at play prior to polls, nothing could materialize in Bengal as the TMC, Congress and the Left parties are all contesting alone and the BJP is making it a tough battle for the TMC, the rest two are fighting for their existential crisis in Begal.
