PM Narendra Modi took the oath as the next Prime Minister of India for the government in between 2019-24. He took the oath in the grand swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of president Ram Nath Kovind. Along with PM Modi, the union council of ministers also took the oath.
Leaders of BIMSTEC group - Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan have also participated in the grand oath ceremony. Reports are that Rajnath Singh will repeat as Home Minister, and Amit Shah is going to be the next Finance minister. While S Jaishankar is going to take Sushma Swaraj's place as External Affairs minister.
