Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting his Chinese counterpart President Xi Jinping in November in Argentina, Chinese ambassador said on Monday.
Chinese ambassador was speaking ahead of a meeting and said that both the countries India and Pakistan are against any form of terrorism and both the nations have a lot of common interest, specifically in Afghanistan.
He went on to add that India and China were committed to maintain and prevail peace in Afghanistan. He later added that China’s concentration is on connecting North-South Connectivity project or China-Pakistan-Afghanistan connectivity.
PM Narendra Modi had earlier met Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Orgainsation summit as a first bilateral meet between the two in Uzbekistan.
PM Modi’s then meeting with Chinese President was seen as a significant move on the backdrop of India’s several attempts to get a permanent membership of Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).
China had shown veto and always changed the track whenever India contested to become a part of the NSG, saying only those countries can become a part of this who have signed an atomic Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
