Following Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s swearing in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra as the first ever chief minister of the Thackeray clan. The party editorial Saamana has stated that Maha Vikas Aghadi will now act on the flaws of the previous BJP government.
Shiv Sena has also stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not just affiliated to one party and must deliver his responsibilities towards the state of Maharashtra.
"For farmers of Maharashtra, relief has to come from the central government. Even though there are problems for Shiv Sena and BJP in Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray and Modi ji are like brothers for each other. Therefore for his younger brother of Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a responsibility," Saamana has written in its editorial.
The column further read, "Prime Minister is not just for one party but for the entire country. Delhi should accept what the people of Maharashtra have decided."
"We have shown Delhi our power. Maharashtra brings the most money to Delhi. The economy of the country is dependent on Mumbai. Mumbai provides the highest employment in the country. Even on the borders there is a lot of contribution from Maharashtra. Therefore Maharashtra should be given respect," Shiv Sena has said in Saamana.
Longtime friends BJP and Shiv Sena’s alliance came to an end over a sour power sharing tussle in Maharashtra following the election results. While Shiv Sena held out for equal sharing of the CM’s post, BJP gave the thumbs down to the proposition and snapped ties.
Shiv Sena has now formed the government by taking the support of arch-foes NCP and Congress.
In its editorial, Sena further stated, "Uddhav Thackeray took oath as the chief minister. The new government is like a revolution in Maharashtra. Uddhav's government will be of truth and justice for Maharashtra. In five years the Fadnavis government put Maharashtra in debts of Rs 5 lakh crore."
The Sena in Saamana said, "Therefore Uddhav Thackeray will have to act fast but very carefully."
The editorial also highlighted that PM Modi had sent best wishes to Uddhav Thackeray.
The editorial further read, "A saffron flag is hoisted in Vidhan Bhavan and Mantralaya. Maharashtra is on the path of a new beginning."
After NCP’s Ajit Pawar overturned the four day old Fadnavis government, Uddhav Thackeray assumed the chief minister’ office of the coalition government of Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP.
The Sena chief on Thursday night convened the first ever meeting of his cabinet which authorized Rs 20 crore for conservation of the Raigad Fort as he pledged substantial support for farmers after scrutinizing existing schemes instead of any bit by bit support.
