PM Modi in Varanasi: 'It is sad that Vande Bharat express is being targeted, it's an insult of engineers'
As the 2019 Lok Sabha election is approaching, PM Narendra Modi has started his campaign and today he was in his own constituency Varanasi, where he took jibe over those criticizing the failure of Vande Bharat Express.
While speaking at the forum in Varanasi, PM Modi said, “Many steps have been taken to transform the railway in the last 4 & 1/2 years. Semi-high speed train, Vande Bharat that was made in India is an example of it. It is sad how this train is being targeted and made fun of by some people.”
Earlier, the Vande Bharat Express had failed due to a technical snag and broke down while it started it’s first run. A lot of criticism was done online and even by the foreign media houses.

While inaugurating the various development projects in Varanasi, PM Modi emphasized the need for development and that every government needs to work over it.
PM Modi said, “Sarkarein aati gai, baatein karti rahi. lekin aapki aasha kabhi poori nahi hui. Uska pura karne ki taraf aj ek mangal karya ka aarambh hua hai.”
He even visited the Ravidas temple and laid foundation stone for Guru Ravidas birthplace foundation. Here, PM Modi said, “If we had followed the teaching of Ravidas, India would have been rid of the caste system. Cheating and corruption has ruined the country.”
Meanwhile, PM Modi gave green signal to world’s first electric locomotive converted from a diesel locomotive, at Diesel Loco Works, in Varanasi. ‘Modi unveiled the heavy-duty 10000-horsepower which has been made by joining two of the WAGC3 locos for freight operations.’
