As campaign for the first phase of election comes to an end today, PM Narendra Modi has steered up his attack over the Congress party and other Opposition leaders, while he addressed a rally in Karnataka’s Chitradurga.

In Karnataka, the BJP is eying to repeat its 2014 performance when out of 27 seats, the party had won 17 constituencies. In the Assembly election, although the BJP couldn’t form the government, it emerged as the single largest party with 105 seats to its count. The Congress and JDS carved out an electoral alliance and had formed the government.

Addressing the rally at Chitradurga, PM Modi said, “We attacked terror in Pakistan, but some people in India felt the pain. The CM here went a step further, he said talk of the valour of our forces should not be done, it damages his vote bank. I want to ask him, is your vote bank in India or Pakistan?”

PM Modi also raked up the issue of Lingayats and said that the JDS-Congress alliance is dividing the community and playing the appeasement politics ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

While making a special request to the first time voters, PM Modi urged the citizens to evaluate the government’s job done in the past five years and let those vote who have carried out the surgical strikes.

PM Modi said in Karnataka that “1st-time voters se main prarthana karta hu, bahut soch-samajh kar vote dena hai. Aap apna vote desh ke liye shaheed hone waale veer jawano ko samarpit kar sakte hain.Aapka pehla vote kisi garib ko apna ghar, muft me aspatal mein illaj mile, iske liye samarpit ho sakta hai.”
