Cold wave conditions intensified in Rajasthan on January 15 with the temperature plunging to minus 4.7 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur, making it the coldest place in the desert state.
Several places in west Rajasthan witnessed severe cold wave with ground frost due to which the minimum temperature dipped exponentially in Ajmer, Kota And Udaipur divisions, said the Met Department spokesperson.
Minimum Temperature
The minimum temperature recorded in Chittorgarh on January 14 night was minus 1.4 degrees Celsius followed by 0.5 degrees in Sikar, 0.6 degrees Celsius in Bhilwara, 1.2 degrees in Bikaner, and 1.6 degrees in Pilani. The night temperature in Baran was 1.7 degrees Celsius and 1.8 degrees in Sangaria," PTI reported, citing the MeT Department.
While the night temperatures in all major cities in Rajasthan was below seven degrees Celsius on January 15.
The maximum and minimum temperature in Jaipur, the state capital, was 19.5 and 5.6 degrees respectively.

Meanwhile, the IMD has said that a fresh spell of cold wave condition is likely to prevail over northwest India from today.
On January 14, the IMD in its bulletin predicted that the minimum temperature in v parts of northwest India could fall by 4-6 degrees Celsius in next three days.
