Ahead of the beginning of the odd-even traffic scheme on Monday, Delhi government's Environment, Revenue and Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Sunday inspected the ongoing training and briefing of 5 thousand civil defence volunteers all over Delhi.

A long-day training and briefing of the civil defence volunteers who will be planted across Delhi for smooth implementation of the odd-even from 4th-15th November has been conducted in al revenue districts on Sunday. Kailash Gahlot joined the session at Dwarka Sector 22 DTC depot, along with the district magistrate of South West Delhi district and other senior officers.

"Training and briefing of around 5,000 civil defence volunteers are being conducted in all the revenue districts in Delhi today. DMs, ADMs, SDMs and Tehsildars along with wardens and chief wardens of all districts are participating in this programme," said Kailash Gahlot.

Gahlot said that jackets, placards and other relevant material have been given to the volunteers, and it will be required for volunteers during their duties in Odd-even. Civil defence volunteers will play an important role during the last odd-even programmes in Delhi as the state will see general elections in 2020.

These volunteers will assist the traffic police officers and also guide the public. Civil defence volunteers will be planted at all the traffic police booths so that people don't face any difficulty during the odd-even scheme.
