Nowshera ceasefire violation: Two Pak soldiers injured in retaliatory firing

Two Pakistan Army soldiers were injured in retaliatory firing from the Indian side post a ceasefire violation in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

A woman was killed and her husband was injured in the a ceasefire violation. Pakistani troops reportedly fired 120 mm mortars early this morning in the area.

According to reports, a shell hit a village in the Laam belt of the sector. The woman has been identified as Akhtar Bi (35) and her husband as Mohmmad Hanief (40). In April, Pakistan has committed six ceasefire violations.

However, in the wake of the brutal Krishna Ghati incident where Indian soldiers were mutilated by the Pakistan Army, the Indian Army has been strengthening its counter-infiltration grid along the Line of Control to hunt for terrorists.

Last week, the Pakistan Army carried out unprovoked Rocket and Mortar firing on two forward posts on the line of control in Krishna Ghati Sector.

A BAT action was launched on a patrol operating in between the two posts. In an un-soldierly act by the Pakistan Army the bodies of two Indian soldiers in the patrol were mutilated.
