No-Confidence Motion LIVE Updates: Rahul Gandhi winks after hugging PM Modi post concluding his speech on no-trust debate

The debate on the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi-led BJP government had a kick start in Lok Sabha. The debate, however, will last for close to 7 hours was started by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) that moved the no-trust motion. The government, its allies and the opposition parties will put forward their opinion on the performance of the Narendra Modi government in the last four years.

In this marathon debate, where the opposition will target the government headed by PM Modi over what it terms as "failures", the BJP government will not only defend its case but also inform the country of its "achievements" in the last four years.


The Congress, which does not have the numbers to upstage the BJP, has said that the no-trust motion in the parliament monsoon session is "much more than a show of numbers." They said they will "use the occasion to expose the government over its many failures."

Mallikarjun Kharge is already asking for more time when Congress president said 15 minutes is enough. Talking about recent incidents of mob lynching, he said, "This is important for the country. We need suggestions from opposition and solutions." "We don't know about unity of opposition but unity of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will be shown strongly," Paswan added. LJP is an ally of BJP.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) moves motion against the Modi government. Guntur MP Galla Jayadev says it is a war against the injustice meted out to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He says, "It is not a war between TDP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but between morality and majority. Motion of no confidence is against the lack of fairness, lack of trust, lack of unbiased approach towards Andhra Pradesh."
