In another out-of-box idea presented by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, he has asked to make urea from the urine, adding that if it’s done, India won’t require to import fertilisers.

Speaking at a gathering of young minds at the Mayor Innovation Award function of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Gadkari talked about the new innovations and how through natural waste, one can generate bio-fuels. Adding that even urine could be useful in making bio-fuel and it can further generate ammonium sulphate and nitrogen.

Gadkari said, “I have asked for storage of urine at airports. We import urea, but if we start storing urine of entire country then we will not need to import urea, so much potential it has, and nothing will be wasted.”

Nitin Gadkari, who has been in news for his outspoken ways and getting thumbs up from the Opposition at various instants, said, “Other people do not cooperate with me because all my ideas are fantastic, even the (municipal) corporation will not help, because in government, people are trained to be like (blinkered) bulls who walk in the rut, not looking here and there.”

Narrating his own ordeal which he used at his residence, Gadkari said that he has stored his own urine and uses it as fertiliser for the garden at his bungalow.

Gadkari detailed about India’s import for the current fiscal year and said, “We are selling amino acid abroad and have order of about 180 containers of bio-fertiliser from the Dubai government.”
